Propel

Hi Ya’ll.  Just last week I had an opportunity that I will never forget, I was able to donate a copy of my Christian children’s book (The Missionary Dog) to the local public Elementary school library.  That is so huge on so many levels and deserves a big hallelujah shout anytime I think about it!!  As I was thanking the Lord for this opportunity, He reminded me of some events in the past that had to happen for this moment to occur.  That’s what this blog post is about, all the things that we don’t accredit as being a “big deal”.  God uses many things in our lives to PROPEL us towards his plan for us.  Since we don’t see the “big” picture we may not act as fast as we should, or give it as much attention and energy as we should and the list goes on.  Because we don’t see , what He sees.
The Lord reminded me that about 2 years ago, He told me it was time to put my child back in public school.  We had been homeschooling.   Then He showed me that if I had not obeyed, we would not be at this school.  I would not have had an open door to go in and offer the book.  And the administration may not have cared to take the time to dig into the guidelines enough to find a way to accept the book.  So you see putting my child in public school was very much related to writing a book, and working to have it published and then trying to market it etc…….. In the natural if you asked me the 2 things would not be connected at all. But they are, and God knew that.  My obedience to His request about the school, propelled me to a place that then allowed the Word of God to be in a place where 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders can now access it.  But it stated with a decision to return my child to public school.  So what is God asking you to do?  It may be something that is going to propel you into something that is so marvelous you can not imagine it.  Psalms 118:23 says, This is the Lord’s doing, it is marvelous in our eyes. Let me tell you, for me this whole thing is marvelous. Not only is my child soaring to new heights academically, but I was an instrument He used to spread the Gospel in public school. PROPEL means to set or keep in motion.  And some related words are activate, motivate, raise ,stir, set off, trigger, excite, fire up, inflame.  What has God been trying to propel you into? Even though it may not seem significant, trust me, IT IS!!!! One huge thing I have learned with my book is that God graces us to do what He asks us to accomplish.  Acts 1:8 says,  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”  Where is your Jerusalem, Judea or Samaria?  There are so many places God needs his people in, so that we can share the Gospel.  Banks, hospitals, court rooms, jails, schools, gas stations, restaurants, parks, play grounds, libraries, churches etc….. He is wanting to propel you!  So don’t fight the job change, or move, or going back to school, whatever it is that He is speaking to your heart. Grab a pole and run and jump with both feet, something great, and shout worthy is just on the other side. Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God- Corrie Ten Boom.
